Boot day
rain downpouring
puddle stomp along streaming sidewalks
ragged clouds swept up achingly green hills
crash bang flash boom
storm day
hats and coats
rush scatter hurry to cover
out from under the sheets of water

I am trying to think of how to put it, but it always comes out wrong (I have not your gift for words, my dear) but the thing to say that gets my point across without naking you feel bad (which is exactly what I don't want to do, make you feel bad, because I reallyreallyreally like this) is: This is the happiest rain poem I have ever read.
But rain is, to me, by definition, unhappy.
"Grasp that and you have the root of the matter."
Perhaps my confliction is compliment enough.
:)
Indeed dear lady it is. I grew up with rains of all sorts and dearly love them all - even when they make me sad. I suppose at times I share your conflict.
